First, I did a read-through for Matt and gave general thoughts and feedback on the story and plot. Then I went back through as an editor, doing proof-read level work and more specific commentary on anything I thought was rough or was a bit of a stretch. It didn’t need much work, because it is very well written.
Roots Down to Hell was a very enjoyable surprise. As un-woke as it’s possible to be, this book set up the stakes and then delivered. Will Kevin get away with murder? Should he?
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Noir, character-driven dramas, or is simply sick of being preached at when you try to wind down for the night with a good book.
